The midst of winter and not much happening in the rug and textile world but there is one piece of minor fresh market news .
Sotheby’s , N Y C has an “Americana” sale scheduled on Jan. 20-21st. that includes 34 various rugs and carpets . The rugs start at lot # 4071 . Nothing particularly important but a decent group worth your time to take a quick look . One item lot # 4073 Anatolian village carpet seemed to be the most interesting collectors item but it has a modestly aggressive pre- sale estimate . There are also a couple of Chinese pillar carpets that look pretty good . Not a big deal but better than nothing in the middle of winter . !
