Netherhampton Salesroom , Salisbury U.K. held thier Spring rug, carpet and textile extravaganza today that featured 280 total lots of all manner of ( hand woven) items. As usual there was nothing in the way of a standout piece included in the auction inventory just a large selection of mid to low end shop stock type merchadise . Out of 280 items run across the podiumn approximately 106 failed to garner any interest at all . So if the posted “Salesrooms” numbers hold up it works out to a moderately successful sold precentage of about 63% . Not terrible but since a large number of the lots sold , sold for very low prices the gross sales total is certainly nothing for Ms Barrett and the Netherhampton rug dept.to celebrate about. On a positive note 12 lots did manage to get to or pass over the £ 1,000 threshold so there was at least a modest amount of good news in a rather dull and mediocre sale result which is better than nothing or not ? Better luck to them in the fall !
