For once the week started out the way one would hope it would .
A small group of fresh to the market collectable rugs appeared at O.C.G and commerce was completed .
A positive way to start what should certainly be a slow holiday week !

The big day passes with out a hitch and with good weather to boot .
That said nothing in the way of commerce but plenty of welcome holiday sprit all around .

Not much to report on this lack of rug news holiday weekend but there is a small piece of fresh rug auction news if your into the decorative side of things.
Both Sotheby's and Christies have sales scheduled in January , 2015 that feature small groups decorative room size carpets .
Sotheby's , NYC's ” Important Americana” auction is on the docket on Jan. 23-24 and features 18 mid – range decorative items .
Unfortunately nothing in the way of collectors pieces at all.
Christies , NYC's , “Interiors ” general auction is scheduled on Jan. 13-14 and includes 17 rugs and flat weaves . Not a thing in the way of a serious collectors item but a few mediocre Caucasians are included in the assortment.
So the last full week of 2014 ends on a somber note but 2015 feels good right now.
